A couple of hours after we got off the River we went on the most amazing hike. Thanks to Chris May and Scott! They led Boston, Emma, and me along the 2 foot wide ledge they called a path! It was really a slice of very rocky dangerousness! One edge mountain, the other edge very steep cliff!! Did I mention that the path was completely surrounded with poison oak? But, it was so worth all the risk. It was gorgeous!!! We hiked 2 miles into the canyon to Rainie Falls ( and 2 miles back). A class five rapid that took my breath away. I've never seen water run so fast! And for some reason this did not stop Boston from wanting to get as close as possible.( to his death!) We had a very strict no tripping rule, Boston tripped 12 times, and my heart stopped each and every time. Luckily we made it back to the truck where we had a lot of water waiting for us. Hiking and hearing rapids at the same time makes you very thirsty. As soon as I got back to camp I crashed. My air bed has never felt so dreamy!
Today we packed up early and drove home. For those of you who know my husband well, this needs no explanation. For those of you who don't, lets just say he's not really the camping kind. ( he wears gloves the whole time to keep his hands from getting dirt on them).

I know the feeling! The trail down the road from our house has a really cool "goat trail," but I have to hold Vlad behind the kids. Otherwise, he tries to walk next to them. Someone would fall off a very rocky cliff, and land in the lake after breaking every bone, if he/she was lucky.
White water rafting- that is the next trip I want to go on... after I have the baby I mean. I think it would be such a blast! I could do without the 4 mile hike. Reuben and i went for a 2 1/2 mile walk the other day and my back and hips were killing me. oh well
I'm so glad your family was there on this rafting trip. It was so fun to see your kids and their reactions to the water. I had NO idea Heidi had said that to Sid. Shame on her. No wonder Sidney was so scared. While you were on your hike they played the entire time together and had such a good time. They created a play and put it on for us around the fire. They were hilarious. Pictures of your rafting adventure will be coming soon.

Oh, that sounds so fun! And great photos of your kids. Their personalities really come through.
Fun! for you, I'm not sure that I would be up for it. I really enjoy the river rafting at lagoon where I know that I will not die. What a fun weekend, though, since you're all still alive.

I am sooooo jealous that you get to do all these funthings with my fam, but happy for you all the same! I am glad yo had sucha good time!
It's so much fun to get away from it all and just spend time with family. I'm jealous!
