down in the dumps

I've noticed not a lot of you are posting and commenting today. Is everyone in a funk because of the bad news? Is the fact that Heath Ledger died this morning making the idea of blogging unbearable? It is very sad to me as well. I'm taken back to the River Phoenix fiasco. I don't think I have fully recovered from that either. So young, so talented. Why are the drugs so hard to resist? We miss you River and we will miss you Heath. I've heard there are many benefits to talking about your feelings in times of tragedy. If anyone needs to have a good gab session feel free to let it all out in my comment section.

I do realize this sounds very irreverent. I don't really mean it to. Kind of. Take it as you will.

Im a little young to remember River dying. But I was stunned when I heard that Heath died. Ive always had a soft spot for him. I drooled over him in "10 things I hate.." and Ive had a crush on him ever since.
So sad about his two year old losing her daddy and His poor family.
It will be interesting to see what the official COD ends up being.

I am so sad Heath has died. He is so cute. I loved him in "A Knights Tale" I will miss his gorgeous face on the big screen.

Monique called David today and told him and then David called me to tell me. I was very curious about it so I watched the news all evening and was a little shocked that they didn't show very much on Heath. Was this not big news? He was very talented and attractive. I guess drugs will just kill you out of no where! It really is super sad for his family

I was very sad to hear about this too. Steve called me from work to tell me. What a waste of such a beautiful, talented man. I don't consider him a waste, please don't take that the wrong way, it's just what drugs do to people.

I was also taken back to River Phoenix. Which in turn, could take you back to James Dean. What does Hollywood do to these boys?

I will gladly join you in a moment of silence and a gab session to follow.

i was shocked when i found out this evening! i was like, "is this some kind of joke?" i wish the answer was, "yes!"

such a beautiful face and talent wasted on drugs! i remember the whole river thing, too! i was so in love with him back then. i was heartbroken!

the lesson to be learned...don't do drugs!!!!

I just read this about 5 minutes ago and my thought wasn't for him or his family. it was "Oh no, does Merilee know about this? I'm gonna hear about this."

btw, where were you tonight? You didn't show up and I couldn't bring myself to go in there by myself. Rachael left too right before it started and I wasn't about to go in and shake my booty with all those younguns.

I have noticed the lack of posting/commenting yesterday too. I didn't link it to the sadness over Heath. I was a fan from the moment I laid eyes on him in 10 things too. LOVE HIM! So sad.

The bear Sid chose cracks me up. Did we cause our mothers the same grief? In fact I know I did because in 5th grade when we moved onto Lambson Lane my mom made a chart for me of all the things in my closet that match. I had to check my list every morning to see if it met her matching standards...not mine. No wonder it took a few years to have a "girl friend". Only boys were cool because they didn't notice my unmatched clothes and my really green ugly hair! She'll look back in a few years and realize her ways, and hopefully switch things up again. She is such a cutie! LOVE her long long hair!!

I was personally suprised at my own sadness over Heath Ledger. I mean, I don't know him. I do really feel for his child and that we are deprived of a talented and attractive actor. I saw a spot from 10 things where he's on the bleachers singing and that sunk me even lower. I watch A Knight's Tale regularly, cried through the Patriot several times (not all last night, over the years) I always figured if Heath was in a movie, I would probably enjoy it. I was already excited to see his crazy portrayal of the joker. I'm very sad.

I was a huge fan of River Phoenix and Johnny Depp back in the day. I still love Johnny by the way. He just gets better and better. He is also getting older, and will someday be OLD. River will always be young and beautiful. Although we've missed out on all of his talent, his memory will always be young and beautiful, and now, so will Heath's.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sad about it. But he will always be young in our memories. I feel mostly sad for his little girl.

Do you know who's really sad about this? Justin. He's so excited about him playing the Joker in the upcoming Batman movie this summer. He's shown me clips and Ledger is sooo scary and good. And he was suppose to be an on-going character in future movies. Now what? Who can fill that role?!

That is so sad! I didn't find out about it until late last night. His poor wife and little girl!

Becky, are just trying to rub it in that I'm 5 years older than you?
Megs, I was thinking the same. He didn't get nearly the coverage Anna Nicole got!
Elise, I can't wait for our gab sessions. Two more days.
Darilyn, I'm so sorry, I totally spaced line dancing. I'm I really that obsessed with this stuff that I was your first thought? That is a tad scary.
Chelsea, it was the only logical explanation!
Kim, I can't believe you are jinxing Johnny Like this.

My favorite is Heath in Brokeback Mountain. I never saw it (even though I want to)but I think I have something for cowboys. He is just so dang hot in those movie commercials

He was absolutely amazing in Brokeback Mountain. I definitely suggest seeing it at least once. I was sad, too, but not really emotional about it.
