Chris has been looking at cars for awhile. Let's just say I was bored with every little car detail (sorry Chris) until we decided to buy an old car and fix it up. So here is my new baby. A 1970 Jeep Wagoneer. What do ya think?
Serious as a heart attack. We both fell in love with it. Wait until we get it all fixed up. I don't think Merilee will let me even drive it. She made sure I knew who was driving it home - HER! I am happy to see her happy about something besides the Bachlerette or So You Think You Can Dance. Mason can't wait to get his hands dirty working on it. It should be pretty fun.
I love the color! My brother is into those kind of cars. He has an old bronco and an old suburban that looks a lot like the front view pic of yours. Very cool Merilee!
OK, seriously? Add some wood paneling and you have my dream car! Seriously! Then add a surf board to the top, and a boardwalk bike in the back. Ahhhhh, heaven!
Steve, I didn't spend enough time in Jason's car to know it broke down all the time, but I actually have a little cash on hand to make mine reliable. And yes Mason is already begging to drive around the block. He and Boston are both claiming they get it in high school too. I told them no way, Speedy Mcgee is all mine.
Merilee do you not remember the trip we took to Crested Butte in Jason's wagoneer? Or, that the week before we were supposed to drive to Colorado breaking down on the freeway in Phx? Ahh the good ol' days!
Really I love love love the car and I wish I was taking that road trip with you guys.
I do remember the trip but I don't remember the car breaking down while we were gone. I do remember taking a bit of a detour though. As for the freeway in Phoenix, I have no recollection.
yes Reuben and I are super duper jealous right now. There is a '65 cherry red Chevy wagon at Val's old car shop in downtown Chandler that I have been drooling over for about a year now. unfortunately it has no a.c and that is not ok
Don't even think about changing the color! This car is definitely a perfect fit for you. Have fun with it. David is jealous, except he really wants an old Land Cruiser.
we had a Jepp wagoneer for awhile with all 13 kids in it. Two on my lap while driving. It was great the good ole days. You will love it and all the time to fix it up will be a great project for you and the boys. That is how our boys learned how to fix anything. the girls just had AAA. Good times Paula
I love my family(every last stinkin one of them), I love my Heavenly Father, I love being outside, I love good smells like; tractor oil, wet dirt, pumpkins, and pine trees. I love getting filthy dirty, laughing my guts out, hard work, and crushed ice. And I love those fleeting moments of absolute peace.

Chris, the Bachelorette is so 2 weeks ago. Get over it.
Yes everyone, I am very serious. This is my new car.
No WAY!!!!
This car is soooo cool, and soooo you!!!
I'm in shock.
Mer, did you learn nothing of Jason's Wagoneer? It died every 1000 miles, and left us out in the boonies between Las Vegas and Phoenix for many hours.
And you know if Mason is wanting to fix it up, then he is going to want to drive it soon too.
Well done, I dig it.

You have some serious style, girl! Also, I love that picture of Mason in your previous blog. That is classic Americana...the freckle-faced kid.
You are so funny! Love it. Now that is a car with character. Are you going to have it go through "pimp my ride" first?
Welcome to the old clunker club! I'm feeling much cooler already...except your car is actually cute!

I seriously can't believe I had to hear about this through your blog!
That is one cool classic car! You are going to look awesome driving down the freeway...it is SO YOU!!
I've been thinking how it really adds something to the neighborhood - now we look even more like the Edward Scissorhands neighborhood.
