Happy First Day Of School
Boston was rubbing it in last night. He got to sleep in and Mas & Sid had to get up early. Just as I suspected, he did not sleep in. He was really excited for school to start this year. That still amazes me! He hated school until 5th grade.
Mason awoke early this morning. He is our household alarm. Always the first one up. He was not looking forward to school this year so I was pleasantly surprised when he announced " I'm kind of nervous and happy. I think I have pre-game jitters". I told him I always felt that way too.
Sid was up early. Thank Heavens! She's a sleeper. She was all smiles this morning and she even let me do her hair.
Now I have a whole day ahead of me. Hmmm. How should I fill it?

Alexander just barely started liking school this year. It's nice. Luckily my kids are up early 90% of the time on school days. I hate waking them up.
I think you should go shopping, eat chocolate and get a pedicure. That's what I would do.
They all look "too cool for school"!
How exciting! I was beginning to think they just canceled school in OR. It feels like we've been in school forever and you kept putting up summer vacation shots.
I think you should go into Portland and meet Chris for lunch, or go play with some of your friends who also just sent all their kids off for school.
BTW, when are you coming? I know you told me but I forgot the dates.
I say go back to sleep! That is what I would do. All the other suggestions sound good as well though. Your kids look great. I know this is still a long time away for me but I cannot wait until I am at this point.
Your kids are so cute. I want to hear everything you did today! Lucky you.
i wish i had all day to myself...it will be a long time before i get that kind of freedom!
both of our girls were up before i was this morning and nani was going through her backpack. she was super excited!
when she got off the bus she said, "i love school!" i should record that so i can play it for her later when she isn't quite so excited about it!
SO? What did you do???
Since my time alone doesn't start for like another 5 or 6 years...I have to live vicariously through YOU. Do share!
So, I filled my day by going and visiting Alisha. She just renovated her kitchen. It's gorgeous of course, this is Alisha we're talking about. So we visited and filled cupboards. Can't wait to see it completely finished.
Then I got to hit Darilyn's house where she made me an amazing lunch. Tuna sandwiches(that's one of my faves) and homemade pickles. Sorry, it just doesn't get better than that. Then we went to the library and a very fun little Tea/antique shop. Where I found some old linens I'm headed back for tomorrow.
I came home and decided to throw some chocolate chip cookies together for after school snack. I was feeling a tad super momish.
Then to top it all off I got a really cool surprise visit from Bridget and Brenda. It really pays to have the closest bathroom to the park.
My kids walked through the door just in time for cookies and all was well. Dang that was a rad day.
Mer, you are super rad!
I wish I had some of those chocolate chip cookies right now.
You are super-mom! And how wonderful that you took time for yourself. I love Mason's "pre-game jitters." Awesome!

Nothing better then the first day of school!! Unless it is the last day
I agree with Paula! They look so good! I hope you figure out something fun to do with your time. I can't imagine. I know once that day comes for me, I will miss it when they were little.
So after Catcher left a trail of blood along my floor from crawling around I decided that I will let you by him those silly leg protector/warmer things
oh, I'm on it.
I'm stoked you and Darilyn will be here in less than a month
I just have to say that I am loving your playlist right right now. I don't know how long it's been like this cuz I usually have my sound turned off. Today was the exception and I havin' a great time getting the kids ready for school on Kas' b-day and eating krispy kreme donuts.
I could really use a new post from you right about now
