Dinner last night

Every year for our Christmas enrichment night they ask people to volunteer to decorate a table. I always Volunteer! I love having the opportunity to get creative ( and fine I'll admit it, I enjoy the large audience. Is that so bad?) This was my 3rd year and each year the table decor has gotten progressively mmm... stranger! I wish I had pics of the first two years. I told Megs I would post some pictures this year. Let me just say, I felt really stupid taking photos of my own table at the party so I didn't get the best shots, but I too wanted proof of its wackiness. I was a bit nervous for the reaction and feedback. In fact I forced Darilyn to come with me. If everyone else hated it, I knew I would have one person there to love me. I ended up loving the way it turned out! I don't really think the pics do justice, but at least you get the idea.

The cupcakes were frosted with a pale blue meringue ( you can't really tell in the picture), and the deer heads were a great conversation piece!

Whacky is right! I want more details! Did you wrap each piece of silverware and each glass? That must have taken forever. How did the guests like it? I like your color scheme.

What the...? Those deer heads would have had Nalani in hysterical fits of terror! I would have just put her at a different table and sat at yours though:)

Alisha-I did wrap everything, but very messy like. I watched Hope Floats while wrapping and other than the tears that kept filling my eyes and slowing me down, the time flew by. I didn't remember that movie being such a tear-jerker. The table got great reviews from the ladies.
Aundrea - it was just for the Relief sisters. No children were there to frighten. Darn it!

Mer, you crack me up. I don't think I ever would have come up w/ that. Especially the Rudolf on a stick. I like the deer in the, what is it, coconut?

I wish I had seen the other years. You are incredibly creative. I miss you being here and spurring my creativity.

OK...now that I have regained my whit...I would have LOVED to be a fly on the wall when some of the "sistas on the hill" saw your table!
BTW...I think you are incredibly creative :)

Let me say a few things about Merilee's table. 1st- Everyone LOVED her table. Even people that I wouldn't have thought would like it complimented her over and over. 2nd The deer heads scared my children too when Merilee asked them to hold them in the car. 3rd- unwrapping the utensils, plate and glass was very fun. Even more fun was all of us throwing the paper under the table to store during dinner. 4th- that was just about the best cupcake i've ever eaten. I've been craving about 10 of them ever since. and finally 5th- it was definitely the most popular table of the evening due to Merilee's "let me add my crazy" table.

wow you are fast at postin! I love it! The table and the quickness. It is kind of hard to tell but now I get what you meant with the decapitated deer.

Huh. Huh. I don't really know what to say... What inspired this? When was it that you thought, oh decapitated deer that would be neat? That is the most random thing I have ever seen. A little frightening at first but it's passing.

You get an A+ for creativity and incredibly unique! As shocked as I am I love it. It is so you!
